Powerful Turbo Vacuum Cleaner Attachment - High-Speed Suction for Pet Hair, Dust & Debris - Perfect for Carpets, Upholstery & Hard Floors

I bought this to boost rug cleaning on my little Hoover S1361 canister vacuum. It's a compact canister that has middling suction but is handy for stairs and above the floor cleaning.This little nozzle fits on the end of the vacuum wands and has an air turbine that spins the brush roll. This gives the vacuum a little bit of agitation on things like area rugs, carpeted stairs and the like. Here are my pros and cons.Pros:Doesn't require an electric hose or plugs. Since the vacuum airflow drives it, this can be attached to virtually any vacuum cleaner.Small, light, and with a swivel head. This allows you to easily reach tight spots that something larger could not. The nozzle is only 8" wide, so it goes anywhere. It is very handy on stair treads.It really works well, and works well with even smaller, lower power canister vacuums. Of course, if you have a stronger vacuum, the brush will spin faster. It really helps with removing lint from area rugs and lighter weight carpeting. I have hard floors and area rugs in my upstairs bedrooms, and this really speeds up cleaning cat hair and the like.Standard size 1 1/4" fittings. Does not need an adaptor to fit on most machines. Older Hoovers and Miele are two exceptions I can think of.Cons:This is not meant for deep cleaning carpeting. This little nozzle will continue to work on my heavy pile living room carpet, but it bogs down and only surface cleans the carpet. Think twice before ordering this for heavy plush or shag rugs. It's best on low to medium pile.This is not for a large area. Please note the 8" width. This little nozzle is very handy for area rugs, stairs and small spaces. If you have a 2000 square foot house with wall to wall carpeting, you will work yourself to death and hate this. Get a good full size upright or a power nozzle canister with an electric motor.Turbo tools are fragile.All of these air driven tools share a common vulnerability in that pass they the dirt through the turbine. If you pick up something too large with the nozzle, it's going to suck it up and jam it in the turbo fan. Granted, it's easy to open them up and clean them out, but it's easier to remember to police the area before you vacuum.Finally, this isn't a con but a reality with turbo tools. You MUST keep the roller brush clean of fuzz and pet hair. All vacuums lose effectiveness with dirty brush rolls, but turbo driven ones often slow down or even stop.Overall, for the price, this is a nifty little gadget. If you want it for light cleaning and quick pickups and don't have a lot of heavy soil, I think it would be a great buy.
