This does a great job on algae that is on the glass. My tank is not as bad as some they advertise for the product, but it does a great job. I use this on my 10 gallon tank that sits on a tile counter, the magnets are so strong they will cause the tank to move when I pull the magnet across the glass. I am also cautious not to let the magnets slam together when cleaning the tank to avoid clacking the glass.
